With the release of the revolutionary Platinum FaroArmÆ portable CMM, FARO
Technologies has invented the worldís most advanced portable CMM in manufacturing
history. It represents the culmination of two decades of R & D with more multiple
pending patents for innovations in accuracy, reliability and ease of use.
The Platinum FaroArmís .0005" accuracy renders traditional CMMs, hand tools and
other portable cmms obsolete. Anyone, anywhere can now inspect, reverse engineer or
perform CAD-to-Part-analysis on parts, fixtures and assemblies with previously unheard
of precision. When you partner that accuracy with its adaptable 3-D measurement
technology and customized zero-training Softcheck Tools (with or without CAD), it is
ideal for forming, molding, fabricating, casting and assembly facilities needing GD&T
and SPC output.
It also features true portability and improved ergonomics.
The Platinum FaroArm is lighter than a standard portable CMM, and includes extended-
use on-board batteries. The portable CMM platform has a universal 3.5" mounting ring
for easy adaptability, while the base offers mounting options that afford "measure-where-
you make-it" capability.
The Arm itself is internally counterbalanced for "neutral buoyancy" and fatigue-free
usage. In fact, overload sensors prevent users from stressing the arm and help ensure
precise measurement, making it "the only arm with feeling."
Platinum series FaroArms are available in 6 or 7 axis configurations. With it's pistol grip
handle, the seven-axis models provide greater flexibility when used with custom probes;
and expands your capabilities with the optional FARO Laser Line Probe. Inverted
configurations are also available for mounting upside-down in confined spaces or hard to
reach areas.
